Mark Childers and Carolyn Haines, the first in a 3-part series featuring Southern Humor Writers, will present anecdotes on May 5, at 4pm at Hernando Public Library in downtown Hernando, MS. Childers, master of Southern comic fiction and author of Crazy in Alabama, which was made into a movie starring Melanie Griffith, will join Haines, the original Mississippi Delta mystery author. The second writer, coming in June, is Jill Conner Browne, who inspired the “Sweet Potato Queens,” a Jackson-based women’s organization with more than 6,000 chapters across some 20 countries. The authors' appearances are funded through The Elizabeth Entrikin Cooke Foundation.
